Library Information
The mission of the St. Stephen the Martyr School Library is to promote lifelong reading and learning both for pleasure and for information. The library seeks to ensure that our students acquire the necessary information literacy skills they will need to lead successful lives in the 21st century.
The library is open during regular school hours. All of the classes have a scheduled check out time each week.
One of our school rules is: We will be responsible for our actions. Here are some ways to apply responsibility in the library.
Most books are checked out for a 2 week period. Students will not be able to check out new books if their materials are overdue.
Please help your child find a special place at home where their book will be safe. (Please don’t send library books back to school in a book bag with a full water bottle.) If the book is damaged or lost, it is our policy to charge the replacement value of the item. PLEASE, do not try to repair any damage to a book.
Book care guidelines:
Use with clean hands.
Hold carefully, keep dry.
Know where it is.
Keep away from pets and small children.
Remember book due date.
Keep it in a safe place such as a backpack!
32 iPads with educational apps are available for student use in the library.
